Multiglot 14 brings Polish, letters, noun animacy, and verb aspect

22 juin 2025

Five months after the last release, Multiglot 14 is available. You can now use Multiglot’s innovative method to learn Polish, a Slavic language with 43 million speakers! One of our guiding principles is offering genuine support for native speakers of languages other than English, and in keeping with this, it’s also now possible to use the app in Polish to learn one of our other languages: English, Spanish, French, German, or Czech. Multiglot can already teach you 9000 things in Polish, with more being added weekly. That brings the total across all our languages up to 60000 things—that’s a 54% expansion of our language courses!

The latest version of our free languages app also offers new activities:

  • Letters: Learn the letters of the alphabet along with their names. Start off with getting to know how a letter looks and picking out the correct sound from multiple choices, then progress to listening to how a letter sounds and picking out the correct letter from multiple choices, then finally progress to listening to how a letter sounds and writing the correct letter using your keyboard. This is supported for all our languages.

  • Noun animacy: For some languages, nouns can have the concept of being alive or sentient. This affects the correct usage of a noun grammatically. Once you know a noun well, you can now also ensure you know which category it falls into: animate or inanimate. This is supported only for Polish and Czech, since our other languages don’t have this concept.

  • Verb aspect: For some languages, verbs can have the concept of how an action or similar extends over time. For example, the translation of ‘I played tennis’ can use a different verb to ‘I was playing tennis’. Once you know a verb well, you can now also ensure you can recognise its aspect. This is supported only for Polish and Czech, since our other languages don’t use verbs to directly express this concept.

Multiglot can teach you everything by simply taking our 1-minute, 5-minute, or 15-minute quizzes. There’s no need to decide what to learn or what’s best to practise, since our language engine takes care of that for you! But if you want to target only a specific topic, Multiglot’s Elements area now offers the following targeted quizzes:

  • Areas: Letters, Images, and Words
  • Parts of Speech: Nouns, Adjectives, and Verbs
  • Letters: Listening, Reading, and Writing
  • Images: Recognition, Captioning, and Spelling
  • Words: Number, Gender, Animacy, and Aspect

You can sign up with just an email address and finish your first quiz within minutes—all for free!

Good luck! 🇬🇧 🇪🇸 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 🇵🇱 🇨🇿 🐠
